The healthcare client operates a large network of hospitals, clinics, and medical facilities, and is responsible for owning and managing sensitive patient data across its various systems and applications. They are committed to maintaining the highest level of data security and compliance with industry regulations, including HIPAA, PHI and 21st Century Act.
GHIT client faced several challenges related to data security, including the need to protect patient data across multiple systems and applications, the need to maintain compliance with strict regulations, and the need to ensure data is secure during transfer and storage. The client also needed to enable secure data sharing with external partners, such as insurance plans (P1), Medical research institutions and Labs (P2), Clinical Research (P3) etc.
The healthcare client engaged GHIT Digital to implement and integrate the Protegrity Data Security Platform to address their data security and data encryption challenges. The Protegrity platform offers end-to-end data security, including encryption, tokenization, masking, and access control, and can be integrated with a variety of data sources and applications. Team GHIT followed Agile project management to implement, integrate, test and support Protegrity Platform. The steps included but was not limited to:
Discovery and Assessment: GHIT Digital performed a thorough assessment of the client's data security needs, including the types of data being stored, the systems and applications in use, and the regulatory requirements for data protection.
Planning and Design: GHIT consultants worked client’s tech and data team to develop a detailed project implementation, integration and testing plan, including identifying the data sources and applications to be secured, selecting the appropriate Protegrity security measures, and developing a deployment strategy.
Deployment and Configuration: GHIT Digital deployed and configures the Protegrity platform according to the agreed-upon plan, integrating it with the client's existing systems and applications.
Testing and Validation: Team GHIT conducted thorough testing and validation of the Protegrity platform to ensure it is functioning properly and providing the expected level of data security.
Training and Support: GHIT Digital provided training to the client's staff on how to use and maintain the Protegrity platform and provides ongoing support to address any issues or concerns.
With the Protegrity Data Security Platform implemented and integrated by GHIT Digital, the healthcare client achieved end-to-end data security and compliance with industry regulations. The client can now securely share data with external partners, while maintaining control over who has access to sensitive information. In addition, the client gains peace of mind knowing that their patients' data (PHI, HIPAA compliant data etc.) is always protected and secured.
